【Certified translationとは?】

Certified translationは字義的には「認証翻訳」つまりプロの翻訳者の認証付きの翻訳書類という意味になります。しかしながら、外国の書類審査機関が公開している書類のチェックリストを読むと多くの場合、文脈から「公証翻訳」の意味で使われていることが分かります。 この要求を満たす英訳書類の作成方法を以下に分類してみました。ご参考まで。

日本語から英語への翻訳資格を保有する政府認定翻訳者の翻訳証明書を付ける。
（英訳の真実性を公証するもの。）

宣誓書を作成し、誓約者が領事や公証人の面前で署名した事実を公証していただき誓約者の認証に信憑性を付与する。（英訳の真実性についてはなんら公証するものではありません。）

上記を組み合わせ英訳の真実性を公証し、誓約者の認証に信憑性を付与する。
